As most of you have likely heard by now the CDC has loosened guidelines for the general population. Unfortunately, those guidelines do not apply to a higher-risk group in congregate living, such as The Village at Forest Glen. While this is not great news, it will allow us all to do our part to be on a course to return to some normalcy, and it is important to remember that the virus is still there, and even fully vaccinated we can still contract and spread the virus. The good news is that we have only had a few cases while other facilities have had over a hundred, which have included fatalities. We're doing our best to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible through this ongoing pandemic.
Based on the currently available information we are maintaining the following recommendations/restrictions provided we're not in a moment of mitigation that would only allow high-priority and medically necessary personnel:
•All visitors to the main building must continue to enter through the front doors, sign in, and have their temperature recorded, and will be asked to remain masked while in any interior public space on the property. They are free to use their discretion on masking while visiting in the private Units.
•We are continuing the use of masks and social distancing for residents and guests while in our common areas.
•Children under 6 months of age cannot yet be vaccinated and remain vulnerable to the virus. Please use caution when having grandchildren visit, by having them remain masked anytime they are outside your unit.
Although we cannot yet say this pandemic is fully behind us, we can begin to reconnect with one another, and to once again start to enjoy all that living here at the Village has to offer.
